Crazy Hat and Hair Day!
We celebrated the end of state testing by letting our hair down, and up, and colored! Some students, and Principal Burcham, decided to wear a crazy hat. What a fun day!

The Elementary grades at FCA offer an arena for students to expand their academic pursuits as well as to grow in their knowledge of Christ. A strong phonics program ensures that every student develops good reading and comprehension skills. The curriculum includes Bible, language arts (spelling, reading, handwriting, and language), math, history, and science. In addition to the traditional curriculum, students receive further instruction in Spanish, computers, library, art, music and physical education. A daily effort is made by the teachers and administration to encourage the development of individual Christian character and leadership.

Boy Scouts of America 2013 Outstanding Scout Citizen Award Recipient!
The Boy Scouts of America's Scout Law is: A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.
Their slogan is “Do a Good Turn Daily”.
The Chief Tarhe District of Simon Kenton Council agrees that those characteristics also describe Mrs. Karen Burcham.
On Saturday April 20, 2013, the district announced at their annual awards banquet in
Baltimore, Oh that, Karen Burcham is the 2013 “Outstanding Scout Citizen Award” recipient.
The award is given annually by the Boy Scouts to a non-scout citizen who has made outstanding contributions through their enthusiasm, time and efforts to encourage scouts and scouting.
Mrs. Burcham was nominated by her peers and then chosen by a committee of district representatives who believe that she is an outstanding citizen. She has shown great leadership and sets a great example not only to the students and parents at Fairfield Christian Academy as the elementary principal, but to those whose lives she affects in the community, including scouting. She is definitely the definition of a good citizen, as all 11 items listed in the scout law can certainly be seen in Karen Burcham.
Grades K-5 enjoyed a visit from Smokey Bear and learning about fire safety.

What a great day the first graders had with Mayor Dave Smith! It looks like we have some boys who hope to replace him in a few years.
